Step into the magnificent world of the “gas giant" with this beautiful 12” desktop globe, the first ever high resolution globe of its kind for this planet. Developed through collaboration between the astronomers of Astronomy magazine and Björn Jónsson, an Icelandic software developer, this globe was crafted from the latest Juno and Cassini data. Jónsson first united Cassini’s images back in 2005 to create his own global map of Jupiter, but whipped up an update in 2018 using new Juno data to include notable features at Jupiter’s north and south poles. It highlights 18 fascinating aspects, such as The Great Red Spot, Oval BA, and windy equatorial bands. Each globe is durably constructed with a single seam between the hemispheres, complete with a clear acrylic stand and an educational flyer.
