This globe stand is an adaptation of one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most frequently seen furniture designs, the "Barrel Chair". Wright first created the chair in 1903 for his personal use at "Taliesin" in Spring Green, Wisconsin, later updating it in 1937 to be used in Herbert F. Johnson's home "Wingspread" in Racine, Wisconsin.
